THE TRUTH ABOUT THE DREADED SCALE

Why are we obsessed with that number on the scale? What does that number mean to us personally?? How many of us women believe that if we hit that magic number, all be right with our world? TRUTH: IT DOESNT!!

If your like me, I was obsessed with that magic number; I always weighed myself daily, and sometimes twice a day (to see if I could afford to eat some snacks at night). Then wake up in the morning, "weigh in", and that would determine if I had a good day or not, or how I felt about myself that day.

I would literally lose and gain the same 3 pounds every week (the weekend festivies would happen) It was not until I started to lift weights that I started feeling better about myself. But here is the thing with weights.. You may actually gain some weight initially but somehow your clothes will fit better, different! Your body becomes a fat burning machine all on its own (your muscles)

I havent really weighed myself in months, just every now and then. And you know what.. that number means absolutely nothing! Really wanted to put a swear word in there. So what, if your best friend weighs 5-10-15 pounds less than you. By lifting, you will feel better, your clothes will fit better, you actually eat enough calories, etc...

TRUTH: the scale weighs EVERTHING! and means NOTHING!!. How do we let that number determine our self worth/value? So: if you didnt poop that day (or several days lol), ate too much salt and retaining water, didnt drink enough water, and dehydrated, taller girl with more bone mass, etc... the scale weighs everything: muscle, fat, organs and bones.

MY TRUTH: I would rather weigh 140 pounds, have muscle mass, have my clothes fit ( and not try on 5 different shirts) and feel strong and healthy then weigh 125 pounds, thin, low energy, hangry and fight everyday to keep it at that so called magical number

What about you??
